Bosch BCH625KTGB

Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet The BCH625KTGB by Bosch The Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet features a pretty impressive specification on paper - a 25v battery, 60 minutes run time and a charge time of approximately 4 hours. At just 3kg in weight, it's feather light yet still powerful enough to suck up to 27 litres of air per second when in turbo mode.

Bosch BCH625KTGB Review

Very light to the touch, at around 3kg, with a super fast charge time and impressive battery life of approximately an hour. Decent build quality too. The only issue we have with the BCH625KTGB is the price - not that it doesn't offer good value for money, just that it may be too large an amount to invest in a hoover for some consumers.

At Vacuum Reviews we've looked at vacuums of all shapes and sizes to suit all budgets, from cheaper entry level hoovers to high end vacuum cleaners.  Here we have one of the more expensive models, for those of you where money is less of an issue compared to performance.  The Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet is a stunning rechargeable vacuum cleaner, that offers exceptional battery life, very good performance from within it's beautifully designed lightweight chassis.  Weighing in at just 3kg, it offers a huge 60 minutes worth of vacuuming time from a single charge.  It gets better - unlike many other rechargeable hoovers, the Athlet is very quick to regain full power, with a quick charge of three hours providing approximately 80% of battery life.

To hold, the BCH625KTGB is very comfortable on the hand, with a soft ergonomic hand grip cushioning beautifully.  The aforementioned low weight makes using the Bosch vacuum cleaner even easier, being simply to pick up and move between rooms and floors.  In terms of noise, it's very quiet indeed, with a claimed 72dB output which should appease any user with whom sound is an issue.  Similarly emptying this vacuum is easy, with a simple method of detaching and emptying the dust container, which holds 0.9 litres.  Battery life depends on which power settings you use, and there are three to choose from, with the most powerful being a turbo mode which sucks up everything in it's path.  If you're worried about suction levels from a lightweight battery operated vacuum cleaner, then trust us - with the BCH625KTGB Athlet, you need not be concerned.  We've tested in on a variety of flooring and each time it handled it with ease.  The swivelling and pivoting head makes vacuuming in awkward spaces easy, and in effect means that you twist and turn less, and let the vacuum do the work for you instead.  Top marks to Bosch for this handy feature.

The design drew many compliments from out test team - if you're investing such an amount of money in a vacuum cleaner, then you'd expect it to look good and perform well.  With no complaints on the performance, the stylish modern white design appealed to all of our testers.  Build quality is exceptional, as you would expect from a manufacturer such as Bosch, with a wealth of experience in creating sturdy and reliable appliances.  In short, the BCH625KTGB does have a high end price, but features a performance to match, and if you can afford one, you simply won't regret it.  It makes a boring and tiresome job of vacuuming that little bit faster, easier and more enjoyable.

Our Verdict for the Bosch BCH625KTGB Vacuum Cleaner

Sleek, modern looking, packed full of technology and high performing, the Bosch BCH625KTGB is pretty much the ultimate battery powered rechargeable hoover.  The battery life is very impressive indeed, and despite the lightweight design it offers a stunning amount of suction which coped with whatever we threw at it.  Overall the Bosch Athlet may not be for everyone, simply as the price tag is quite high, with not all consumers being able to justify investing that much in a vacuum cleaner.  Those that can however, will not regret this purchase.

7 Customer Reviews of the Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet

  1. James Pearson

Does this come in any other colours – ideally something darker such as black or dark blue so it won’t show any marks as much? Thanks, James

      Hi James

The Bosch BCH61840GB is very similar – this comes in black – unfortunately the Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet only comes in the colour scheme pictured above as far as we’re aware!

      Hope this helps

Does the charger switch off when the battery is fully charged?

    And is the battery replacable?
    If so at what costs?

    1. Vacuum Reviews (Website Admin)

Hi Simone – The battery will stop charging once it is full, and in the case of any issues then you should be able to source a replacement battery from Bosch’s excellent customer service.

  3. Sonia

Bought this vacuum today and put it together easily. I thought I would try attaching the tool hose and really struggled to get the ‘floor tool’ off – so much so that I had to sit down with the vacuum across my knees and keep pulling. Eventually it came off making my arm fling against a cup of tea on the table next to me. This in turn spilt not only over me but over the armchair I was sitting in. My clothes are now in the washing machine and I will have to have the chair cleaned. Not happy.

  4. MRS LEE

I have had a Bosch cordless for a few months and would say the battery charge lasts nothing like the time they say.

    1. Vacuum Reviews (Website Admin)

It may be worth checking with Bosch, or the retailer, to make sure that there are no issues with the battery? If you explain how much usage you get before the battery runs low, then I’m sure they will be able to advise?
